Nestled at the crossroads of history and culture, the Levant is a region that encompasses the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea. This cradle of civilizations includes countries such as Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and beyond. The Levant region in arabic is referred to as balād ash-shām which literally translates to the countries of Syria, Where our families are from.
The Levant is a mosaic of traditions, languages, and flavors that have been shaped by centuries of interactions. It's a place where vibrant bazaars overflow with spices, where ancient recipes are treasured like family heirlooms, and where gatherings are infused with the warmth of shared stories.
Our commitment to sharing the essence of the Levant drives us to bring these traditions to life, infusing every experience and every bite with the soul of our rich heritage. "Levantine" accurately reflects the origins and shared heritage of the dishes and traditions we're sharing. We are mindful of the colonial impact on the region, including the anglocentric language describing it.
While the term "Middle Eastern" is more commonly recognized, we prefer to use "Levant" due to its precision and cultural resonance.
